Foundations and new-build flatwork, planned from the soil up

Foundations and flatwork for homes, additions and commercial builds, starting with the soil and built to engineering and local requirements.

The ground comes before the concrete

A foundation is only as steady as what it sits on, so Albert Cruz Jr starts with the soil and the local environment in San Marcos before anyone talks about forms or mix. Each property gets its own assessment of what it needs for long-term stability.

That first look is the cheapest part of the job to get right and the most expensive to skip. It is also why every quote begins with a visit to the site rather than a number over the phone.

Reinforcement and ground prep

Once the soil is understood, the work is rebar laid in a tied grid, forms set to line and the ground prepared to take the pour. This prep is the part of the job nobody sees after the pour, and it is what decides how the slab behaves over the years.

During the pour, the crew monitors the temperature and the quality of the mix, and finishes the surface while the concrete is still workable.

New homes, additions and commercial builds

Albert pours foundations and flatwork for new residential and commercial construction, built to the engineering and local requirements each project calls for. The same crew can handle the driveway, the walks and the patio around the building once the structure is set.

If an old slab is in the way, it comes out first. The crew breaks it up, hauls it away for recycling and protects the yard and landscaping around it.

Forms up, rebar tied, nothing poured yet

This is the stage that decides how a slab ages. The grid is set, the edges are true and the ground is ready. Flatwork around a new build, from driveways to patios, is prepared the same way.
